Mary Moran-we have never been able to locate whether or not Mary ever came to the USA, we are guessing she died in childbirth, or on the boat to the USA. (as noted below- in 1900 it states she passed 39 years prior, so in James birth year).

News comes from New Mellary of the death there of esteemed resident, Mr Martin McGovern, at the advanced age of 88 years. The deceased was a native of Ireland, and emigrated to this country when a young man, locating at Cleveland, O., where for many years he was connected with the waterworks. His wife died thirty-nine years. For the past twenty years he has made his home most of the time with his son Thomas of New Mellary. He has three other sons, Martin of Cleveland, Patrick of Omaha and James of Mason City and one daughter Mrs Chambers of Cleveland. The funeral will be held at the Monestary Wednesday morning and will be conducted by Bennett Brothers.
